Happy International Women’s Day to all my girls out there!
Being a woman is exhausting and exhilarating all at the same time–especially in the modern world. At this moment, we have more freedoms than ever before in history. Which is still not completely satisfying because women are still underpaid and undervalued. But, the cool thing about this world is that it will pass away and God’s truth will conquer all.
I encourage all women to learn about why we were created and what our role is. We are not to be men, for men have their own purpose separate from us. Womanhood and manhood are so beautiful and so different, but they compliment each other perfectly. We are equal in worth, yet different in purpose. And that is okay. Today, and everyday, we should rejoice in God’s purpose for females!
I was listening to a sermon about the Proverbs 31 woman a few days ago and something that I found very encouraging is the confidence the woman had in God, which was reflected in her life. She knew the fear of God, so she could laugh at the future. She doesn’t need people to tell her who she is, but she serves people because she knows who she is. She is more glorious on the last day of her life than the first. She is a woman who understands her womanhood and flourishes in it.
Women, we do not get our value and worth from this world or the people in it because this place is sinful. We were so precious to God that he sent his Son to die for us. On our worst days and our best, he will not stop loving us. If that isn’t enough to convince us that we as women are loved and valued, then nothing will do it.
So, happy International Women’s Day to you! You are beautiful, treasured, desired and appreciated by the King of the universe.
