Listening: This month I made a huuuuuuge playlist of all the songs that truly make me happy. It’s like seven hours long, which I think is the sign of an addiction to music/playlist making. There’s nothing super new on here, other than a few random songs my brother introduced me to. Other than that it’s a lot of oldies but goodies! If you have some time to kill, like on your Spring Break trip commute, check it out!
Watching: Other than my usual late night Friends episodes, TV was not on my radar this month. However, I did watch The Edge of Seventeen and thought it was all right. I mean, I don’t think I will watch it again. I am planning on finishing out Girl Meets World on Netflix since season 3 was just released. If you know me, you know I adore Boy Meets World. I was dedicated to watching GMW, but I thought it was kind of hit or miss. Now it’s been cancelled, so maybe Disney execs thought the same!
Reading: I finally started my book about Jackie Kennedy! It really good and provides a ton of background on her life from the very beginning. I find that I tend to get on a Wikipedia trail because I search all these people mentioned in the book. After I finish it I’m wanting to read more about Grace Kelly and Princess Diana.
Wearing: College fashion is pretty boring and a little lazy, if I do say so myself. I’ve been living in Lululemon leggings and my Stan Smith’s this month. I’m getting spring fever, so it’s getting harder to reach for a sweater or flannel. Last week we hit the 80s! It was so warm and delicious, so I did get to enjoy some spring weather and it made me even more excited to finish out winter so I can live in shorts.
Shopping: I found these sandals at Target and I’m so excited to wear them with a dress or white jeans when it gets warmer. I’m really into this small block heel and the silhouette is so classic that it will still look good even when the trend is over. Other than that I’ve been pretty disappointed in the spring fashion I’ve seen lately. I don’t like how spring clothing is always 70s inspired. Embroidered flowers, flowing shirts, flared bottoms…I just can’t. Hopefully by the time I go to Houston for Spring Break there will be some summer fashion out. I’m alllllll about summer fashion.
Scandalsing: I made up a word because this is my domain and I can, but also because I’ve been dedicating hours of my life to Pi Phi’s Scandals show this month. Auditions were Sunday and our show made it, so that means I’ve got six more weeks dedicated to my favorite OU event. I would have been really bummed if we didn’t make the show my senior year and after we put in all those hours. The cast is super fun and everyone is very very talented, so I look forward to practice every week. Thankfully it’s not over yet!!!
PRing: I’m sure we all heard about the Oscars gaffe last night where they announced the wrong winner for Best Picture. I personally have my own conspiracy theories about this being planned. I think they knew ratings would be down and thought that if they messed up the final award it would be a ratings boost. After all, we all know what happened at Miss Universe and how much of a media storm that was. I highly highly doubt this is accurate, but you never know! We’ll see how this plays out, but PwC’s crisis communications team responds. I anticipate a full investigation and a formal apology to La La Land and Moonlight.
Believing: This month God has really been teaching me about intentional prayers. The photo above is a quote from Desiring God that brought this home for me. I don’t interpret this to mean that I pray intentionally for something tangible–like ask, believe, receive. I think praying that God will align my desires with His plans moves His hand. This month He has displayed this truth in my life as He answered little prayers I have prayed with intention and persistence.
