I hope everyone had a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend with friends and family!
Listening: My “new to me” playlist is full of a lot of random songs and artists, but I’ve really been enjoying it. I linked it below for you to check out! So I’m starting to think this One Direction hiatus isn’t so bad since we’re getting a lot of new music right now! I have decided that I don’t love anyone’s solo stuff more than I love the band’s music, though. Sad. My thoughts are that Liam’s new song is low-key atrocious, Harry’s album is really unique and I’m kind of into it, and Niall is actually doing the best commercially and I’m for sure a bigger fan of his stuff than anyone else’s. Anyone else want to throw their thoughts into the mix??
Watching: So I was watching Friends on MTV one afternoon and Catfish came on after. I am not an MTV reality show fan, but I just happened to watch it one day and now I’m hooked (Thank you, I’ll be here all night). It’s so bizarre, addicting and just mind-boggling. I’ve learned that people are so, so gullible and also that we throw around the word “love” a lot. Also, I’ve watched A Cinderella Story about once a day for the last week (LOL). It’s my absolute all time favorite movie. Don’t ask me why because I don’t know what it is about that movie that I just love and can never get tired of. Does it bug anyone else that Austin couldn’t figure out it was Sam the entire time? My favorite part of the movie is when Hear You Me starts playing at the football game. It’s just some straight up early 2000s goodness.
Shopping: I am obsessed with tablescapes this summer. There’s just something so elegant and hospitable about a beautifully set table. I’ve linked some of my favorite dishes below for you to check out if you want to set your own beautiful table! (I literally said “lettuce ware” the other day and my roommates looked at me like I was crazy.)
Swooning: Ok so Harry Styles spent a week at the Late Late Show with James Corden–you have to watch it. The entire YouTube playlist is right here. I highly recommend his monologue and, of course, Carpool Karaoke. Also, Landslide + Stevie Nicks + Harry Styles = THIS
Gifting: I decided to get myself a graduation gift, because why not? I chose an Apple Watch 38mm with gold hardware. I’ve had it for two weeks and I absolutely love it! For a while, I was super snooty Apple Watches and how they aren’t necessary, which is still true–they aren’t necessary. But I have been wearing it everyday and I think it’s a nice little luxury. I love the activity app as well as the remote function because I like to play music in my room all the time and I can change the song from my wrist. I use the white sports band, but I also just bought a light tan leather band for nicer occasions.
Eating/Giving: My brother’s friend, Riley, just opened an ice cream shop called the Super Scoop that is staffed by individuals with special needs. So cool! It’s around UCO in Edmond at 419 S Littler Drive. I highly recommend checking it out and I also highly recommend the cookies and cream. Delish! I’ve linked the Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and website if you want to know more.
Drinking: At the store the other day I grabbed one of the Bai Antioxidant Cocofusion drinks. I’ve seen their ads all over social media, so like the sucker I am, I decided to try one. The Puna Coconut Pineapple caught my eye because I am obsessed with anything piña colada flavored. It was so so sooooo good. If you remember my Super Bowl Commercial post, Bai is the brand that did the “bye bye bye” commercial with Christopher Walken and Justin Timberlake, which I thought was brilliant.
Dining: This month was all about Midtown. The Halls Pizza Kitchen and Barrios were my places of choice this month. You can hear more about one of those adventures here!
Believing: I got a lot of awesome feedback on this recent post and several of you even told me you were praying for me. I am so thankful that you even read my posts and that you would take time out of your day to pray for me in this season of my life. Someone told me that it was awesome to see transparency on my blog, especially when it’s so easy for the Internet to be a place where we only show the good. My prayer has always been that God uses this blog to reach people. If it takes me announcing to the world that I have no job, boyfriend or apartment and am still excited about the future for Him to speak to you, then I’ll do it everyday. This month He is showing me that only HE can satisfy me. Money, companionship and security aren’t god–He is.
