I’ve always loved Taylor Swift. The entire Fearless album is the only music I listened to for a solid year and a half of my life. So when I first heard about her new album and watched the PR efforts on her social media, I was excited to say the least. Next to writing music, PR is her specialty. She is so good at controlling and reinventing her brand, especially with the crazy media attention she gets. She’s a boss lady and no matter what you believe about her, you can’t deny that she is talented. Her use of the negative things people say about her is unreal. In PR they’re always teaching that you have to get your messages out in order to control what people think about you. Taylor is great at controlling her brand through pushing her message.
With the release of her new songs, I’ve been on a major Taylor Swift throwback kick and thought I might as well share my top Taylor Swift songs of all time. Because I’m crazy, I thought I’d do my top 13 because that’s her favorite number (R.I.P. Fearless days)! Make sure to click the title to listen to the songs, especially if you’ve never heard them. What are your favorites?
Honorable mentions: SuperStar, Come In With the Rain, Sparks Fly, Wildest Dreams, Style
Favorite lyric: Knew he was a killer, first time that I saw him. Wonder how many girls he had loved and left haunted.
Favorite lyric: It’s strange to think the songs we used to sing, the smiles, the flowers, everything is gone.
Favorite lyric: I’m shining like fireworks over your sad, empty town.
Favorite lyric: So you were never a saint and I’ve loved in shades of wrong. We learn to live with the pain. Mosaic broken hearts.
Favorite lyric: Well, I like the way your hair falls in your face. You got the keys to me, I love each freckle on your face. I’ve never been so wrapped up, honey, I like the way you’re everything I ever wanted.
Favorite lyric: Good girls, hopeful they’ll be, and long they will wait.
Favorite lyric: People are people, and sometimes it doesn’t work out. Nothing we say is gonna save us from the fall out. And we know it’s never simple, never easy. Never a clean break, no one here to save me. You’re the only thing I know like the back of my hand.
Favorite lyric: New money, suit and tie.
Favorite lyric: I’m dancing on my own, I make the moves up as I go, and that’s what they don’t know.
Favorite lyric: They take their shots, we’re bulletproof. And you know for me it’s always you. In the dead of night, your eyes so green. And I know for you it’s always me.
Favorite Lyric: Did I say something way too honest, made you run and hide, like a scared little boy.
Favorite lyric: Untouchable like a distant diamond sky, I’m reaching out and I just can’t tell you why.
Favorite lyric: You call me up again just to break me like a promise. So casually cruel in the name of being honest, I’m a crumpled up piece of paper lying here because I remember it all too well.
