Listening: This month has been all about the podcasts, rather than the music. You can hear about my favorite podcasts here and here. You can also check out my favorite playlist right now by clicking here!
Watching: I’m soooo close to finishing 90210! Season 5 is just starting, and I do think I’ll be a little sad when it’s over. But, 90210 has been on hold while I’ve been watching Queer Eye. Oh. My. Gosh. I am in love Queer Eye! It’s so funny, sweet and rather wholesome (varies by episode). I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve been inspired to live a more full life myself. I can’t wait for Netflix to release more episodes! Antoni is my absolute favorite of all of them, and I wish he would come cook for me.
Decorating: Did you see my post earlier this week about redecorating my apartment? The last weekend of April I spent a ton of time shopping and putting together new furniture for my apartment. It’s coming together well, but I’m still not quite done. Read the post to find out the styles that inspire me and what I’m searching for now.
Traveling: This month was Masters month! My dad, brother and I went to Augusta for the Friday round and had an absolute blast. You can read my Masters guide here! If you ever are thinking of going to the Masters, bookmark this post. You’ll thank me later! I think my favorite part was watching the guys out on the range–especially Rory, because we were right behind him. And yes, it’s true. Augusta is immaculate. I would go again in a heartbeat, so add it to your bucket list and take me back with you!
Posting: Yay for another week of blogging! My latest post from this week shares the fantastic H&M button down I’ve been living in, plus some thoughts on making friends when you have social anxiety. Definitely check it out. You can also learn about how I make a caramel iced latte from home! It’s super tasty, if I do say so myself. There’s also a chatty post sharing 50 things I’m loving right now! And for all you soon-to-be college grads, find out some great interview tips and an easy, professional interview outfit by reading this post.
Branding: This month I launched The Timeless Millennial! This rebrand is something I’m really excited about. It’s just the beginning of this passion project of mine. I hope you like it! You can still find my blog at hollyhoehner.com, but you can also find it at thetimelessmillennial.com.
OKCing: This month I went to some new places in OKC, like The Press! It’s a comfort food restaurant in the Plaza District. Let me warn you–you better come to play if you’re eating here! I got the biscuits and gravy because “brinner” sounded so good. It was HUGE you guys. It was very good, though. I also visited the Oklahoma City Memorial and Museum, which I wrote about here. If you’re ever in Oklahoma City, you must go to the museum! Then I capped off my April with a trip to the Arts Festival where I ate some curry and Dippin’ Dots. What a combination! I love the Arts Festival and LOVE that I’m so close to it now.
Shopping: I didn’t do NEAR as much damage this month as I did last month. I found this really cute and breezy seersucker dress at Old Navy. It’s suuuuper affordable and so easy. Then this pink gingham skirt from J.Crew Factory jumped out at me (when Katie sent it to me haha), so I had to have it! With my apartment decorating project, I’ve been online shopping aaaalllll the coffee table books. Check out some of my favorites below! Hopefully I’ll be able to do a little haul soon.
Drinking: I’ve been trying so hard to drink more water this month, and I wouldn’t be able to do it without water flavoring. I’ve been buying Mio and Crystal Light (without caffeine) and putting them in my water. I’m chronically dehydrated because I just don’t drink many liquids, period. Lately I’ve noticed myself craving water, so this is my way to try to get more fluids.
Eating: This month I really figured out that Trader Joe’s is the best place for me to grocery shop. That’s not a weird realization, is it? I don’t mean to make this depressing (because it’s not), but cooking for one can be tricky sometimes. I’ve found that TJ has so many great options for me and I like that it’s all the TJ brand. One of my favorite bloggers shared a post comparing these new TJ crackers to GG crackers, which are these popular, high fiber crackers that are supposed to keep you fuller longer. I tried the TJ version and I love them! They aren’t totally comparable to the GG crackers, but they are more accessible to me. I love them with hummus for a snack or cookie butter (yum) for an after-dinner treat!
Believing: Emotionally, I had a pretty trying month. I wrestled with God a lot about my life, dreams and aspirations. In so much of my life I feel like I’m pushing on a brick wall. I spent a lot of time complaining to Him that I don’t understand, even though He tells us that not understanding is part of our faith in Him. I’m hardheaded, okay? I know someday I will understand, so I’ve been trying to pray for unyielding faith and open up with my closest friends and family about the desires of my heart. For so long I’ve kept things to myself, so I’m trying to be better about opening up verbally (not on paper or through a keyboard…). These people who love me want to help me with my dreams and aspirations, and who knows? God may use them to move these brick walls.
