I love a good night on the town filled with yummy food, fun drinks and friends! This week my big/best friend, Katie, and I went on a dinner date in Midtown and had the best time at Barrios and the Hall’s Pizza Kitchen. I love to catch up with Katie and she always picks the best places to eat because she’s a Midtown expert. There’s just something about the area that is alluring and you always can count on seeing someone you know. Not to mention every spot is perfectly decorated and really well kept. My goal in this new post grad season of life is to spend more time in Midtown and make some new friends! I even just got a job working just north of Midtown and I can’t wait to explore the area more.
I had never been to Barrios even though several people had mentioned it to me, so Katie insisted that we spend our evening there. It’s a delicious Mexican restaurant right on Hudson that has the best Mexican food and this beautiful pink drink called the Cactus Fruit Slushie that had sour gummy worms as garnish. Yes please! We just sat at the bar and watched the bar tenders whip up all kinds of delicious looking concoctions and munched on a giant pile of nachos. I’m already plotting when I can go back and get another Cactus Fruit Slushie and I’ve heard the mushroom tamales are good, too. The chips are unreal, which sounds weird, but I think it’s because they’re homemade. Yum!
Hall’s just opened last week and I’m so excited to go back to actually eat the pizza! Since we already ate at Barrios, we had the dessert at Hall’s that everyone has been talking about–the strawberry shortcake. Oh. My. Gosh. I didn’t get a picture of it because we dove right in (oops), but if you are looking for dessert you should definitely give it a try. It has lemon in it and I looooooove lemon desserts. Other than the food, the decor in Hall’s was so beautiful. My favorite part was probably the pizza wallpaper in the bathroom and I’m already searching Pottery Barn for their plates.
I can check these places off of my list of places to try, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be going back! I have a feeling Barrios and the Hall’s Pizza Kitchen will become staples in my Midtown routine. However, today I would love your help…Below I’ve included a form for you to tell me your favorite Midtown places to visit! Tell me where I should visit next and what I should order. I’d love your suggestions and I can’t wait to visit them myself! Just fill in the form and hit submit or feel free to comment below!
