The other day I was thinking about things that just make me happy (I’m weird). I was driving around and a Bryan Adams song came on when my music was on shuffle. It’s a song that I never skip and I honestly couldn’t tell you why I like it. But, it makes me happy. Another thing I love? Reading a bunch of different books at once. Or watching a retro movie that makes me belly laugh. In the case of today’s post, it’s an outfit that will never let you down. This simple combo is classic, comfy, practical, cute and easily replicated. It’s an outfit that makes me happy.
For a while, I was keeping a list of all the things that make me happy for no reason. (I’m a list person) I’m going to update the list, but I wanted to share a few new ones with you. Once the list grows, we’ll circle back.
- My favorite Pi Phi sweatshirt that’s worn and simple
- Double stuff Oreos
- Blue and white decor
- The smell of a book
- Watching a retro movie that makes me belly laugh
- Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
- Caramel macchiato creamer
- Senior year of college memories
- Bryan Adams’ music
- The band playing “Sail” at a high school football game
- Reading a bunch of books at once
- An outfit that you always love
These are a few things that instantly lift my day. What I absolutely love about following Christ is that I can see Him in ever single one of these things. The joy these insignificant moments bring to my life are only through Him. I told you, I’m weird. “How can you see Jesus in caramel macchiato creamer, you crazy?” Well, I’m thankful that the Lord allows me to enjoy the experience of sharing a latte with my best friends or new friends. It’s tied to the relationships that He shows His face in. And when I taste it, I’m reminded of that and that makes me happy.
So, what are the things in your life that make you happy?
