Me, Annie, Halle and Maddie celebrating Maddie’s 22nd birthday this month!
Listening: I’ve got a lot of good stuff I’ve listened to this month. It’s a mix of old and new, which is pretty much what my iPod looks like. It’s hard to pick some of my favorites because they’re all so good, but I’d say You Make Loving Fun and Angela are my absolute faves this month. If you want to know what I’m listening to check out the Spotify playlist below!
Watching: I’m all about the sports documentaries. I’ve always loved sports, so ESPN 30 for 30s were my gateway drug, so to speak. Fantastic Lies is my favorite 30 for 30. The best part is when the lacrosse player’s lawyer absolutely destroys a DNA expert during a cross examination on DNA and everything the lawyer learned was from DNA for Dummies. So funny! My family also loves the one about Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan. I always mock Nancy’s famous, “whhhhyyy?” My mom doesn’t like either of them, especially Nancy, but my brother and I are team Nancy. We like to ask people if they’re team Tonya or team Nancy. I also just saw Catholics vs. Convicts and really enjoyed it. Anyways, generally my favorite types of documentaries feature football and basketball. I’ve seen Last Chance U, Schooled: The Price of College Sports, We Could Be King, Undefeated, At All Costs and Happy Valley and they are all on Netflix.
Reading: I just got this book on Jackie Kennedy in the mail and I can’t wait to start reading it! School is so hectic right now, so when (if) it calms down for a second I’m going to crack it open. I adore everything about Jackie and I look forward to learning even more about her as a person.
Wearing: I got the Adidas Stan Smith tennis shoes for Christmas and I have loved them this month. They go with everything and are so comfortable. Right now they are very trendy, but I will wear them even when they aren’t. I can say my Converse have officially been replaced by this comfier classic. I’ve also been into black this January, which fits in with my love of monochrome fashion. If I ever need a look for a night on the town (which is rare) or to look put together, I go for black on black. Easy and classic.
Wanting: Spring has not yet sprung, but that doesn’t mean I can’t shop like it has! I’m all about the boyfriend jeans style right now, so the mall is in my future. They look so cute with pointy pumps, Stan Smiths or ballet flats. They are definitely versatile and just scream spring. Seeing that I’m almost 23 (omg) I might have to find some sassy, neutral pointy heels to go with them…I’ll keep you updated. Also, I’m waiting for a more respectable time to order these espadrilles. When March hits, it’s go time.
Dining: I’m back at school so I can cook for myself again! I made this recipe this month and I am obsessed! I’m used to just chicken, veggie and carb so it was fun to switch it up. It’s full of flavor and pretty easy, too!
PR: There has been a lot of crisis communication happening lately in the aftermath of the inauguration, so that’s what I’ve tried to keep up with. It’s a time for PR pros to be on their toes and I’ve watched the industry closely trying to learn something. Being a Starbucks fan, I’m interested to see how this boycott will affect the business and the management of their brand.
