Annie, Jess and I before Monmouth
Listening: I normally listen to my iPod or XM radio in the car, but this month I’ve been loyal to KOMA. It’s an 80s hits radio station, which is right up my alley. I feel like with every song that comes on the radio I have the same response: “Oooh I love this song!” On the night of Monmouth on our way to dinner and then Waffle House after I was laughing at myself because there were three separate occasions that I did this. Hall & Oates, Centerfold and Aerosmith will do that to a person.
Watching: Did you catch my last post about my favorite throwback movies? I’ll link it here for you to check it out. Now I’m in the mood to watch these movies again! On a more sad note, I cancelled my Netflix subscription because I don’t have the time to dedicate to just watching TV anymore. Growing up is hard.
Shopping: My mom and I did a lot of shopping over Spring Break, so there’s nothing I’m really pining for right now. I did just do a post on things you need in your closet this spring, so head on over there if you’re looking for some ideas! I did do some car shopping this month and walked away with a new ride, so I think that purchase has satisfied my shopping needs for a while.
Scandalsing: This past month was all about Scandals for me. As we get closer and closer to the actual show, it’s gotten more and more intense. Scandals is such a great workout that I’m going to miss it when it’s over this week. But also the cast is really great so I’ll miss them too, of course!
Date Partying: This last weekend was my fourth and final Monmouth date party of my life (pictured above). Sad! I always love Monmouth because it’s a bigger and nicer date party because we pair with Kappa to do it. Plus, dressing up is fun. My roommates and I went in a group and had a blast with our dates. It was a crazy night, not necessarily for me, and one I will remember for a while. I think because we had loose plans and low expectations, when the night was super fun we were all pleasantly surprised.
Believing: When I look back on the month of March the only thing that really stands out to me, other than getting a new car and Monmouth, is Jesus. I made it a point to set aside time every day this month to read my Bible and it honestly has changed and improved my days for the better. I tend to write things at the top margins of my Bible, many I don’t remember writing, and this month something I wrote really caught my eye. It says, “Want peace? Spend time with the Prince of Peace.” It’s so true that spending time in the Word is healing, exciting, refreshing and comforting. I think I forget how magical the Bible is. It’s a living Word that never grows stale. It sharpens us and pulls us into complete adoration of God. I just highly recommend starting somewhere and reading your Bible. I love the Psalms so much, which is an easy start, but the New Testament is also a great place to learn. I want to challenge myself to invest time in the Old Testament because that’s where a lot of mind-blowing prophecy takes place. The Bible is cool people.
