Listening: I’ve been listening to K-Love a lot again lately. It’s so nice to listen to while I work and it honestly does make my day better. My favorite songs that they’re playing right now are Wonder by Hillsong UNITED, O Come to the Altar by Elevation Worship, Magnify and Point to You by We Are Messengers, O’ Lord by Lauren Daigle, Even So Come by Passion, Broken Things by Matthew West, Fierce by Jesus Culture and Spirit of the Living God by Meredith Andrews.
Watching: I’m still working on One Tree Hill and I’m determined to finish it this time! I quit after 6 seasons the first time I watched it, so I’m going to try to not do that. The later seasons just aren’t as good, but I’ve spent enough time watching it that I owe it to myself to just finish. Although, my guilty pleasure is the Housewives series on Bravo and I’m excited to start watching Dallas again. I also love OC because they’re the OGs and they make me feel extremely sane. Also, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team is back on CMT this month!!
Shopping: I can’t believe it, but Loft has quickly become one of my very favorite stores to shop at. I admit, I did a ton of shopping there this month and got so much good stuff! It’s the perfect mix of modest and fashionable. J.Crew Factory also had some goodies, which was dangerous! I love J.Crew, but the Factory is my preferred store because it’s less formal than the original store and definitely cheaper. They have fantastic work clothes, which I finally have a reason to buy. I am obsessed with the pink blazer in the widget below. I can’t wait to wear it this fall.
Wearing: I feel like all I wear are work clothes and pjs, which I’m happy about! Dressing for work has been fun, but it also makes dressing for fun even more fun. I’m starting to identify staples in my closet for work, so now I have a better idea of what I can splurge on. I’ve been wearing these pants non-stop, which you can shop in the widget above and below. I’ve also been cozying up in an old J.Crew grey cashmere cardigan when I get cold at work. It goes with everything. Ballet pumps have become my go-to work shoe because they are comfy, classic and go with everything (shocker!!).
Shop my staples and wishes!
Blogging: You all loved this post, this post (you have to be able to laugh at yourself) and especially this post this month. Thank you so much for reading and sharing. Congrats to all my new Pi Phi sisters (especially at Clemson!!!).
Footballing: So I’m playing flag football with Allison and some coworkers this fall. We’re actually pretty good! There has to be a certain amount of girls, which is partly how we got involved. I also just thought it would be fun and a way to meet people in this new chapter of life (friends!!). It’s also great exercise and reminds me how out of shape I am. I guess you could call this the new Scandals (*cries*)!
Brunching: Katie and I went to Mary Eddy’s for brunch this month and holy wow. It was GOOD GOOD GOOD. We split the pop tart and each had a fried chicken biscuit dish and a fancy little iced latte. I highly recommend.
Reading: Did you catch my review of Not Yet Married? I’ve got two more books lined up to read next and I can’t wait to start them! I’ve been into non-fiction lately, which is so unlike me, but I am really enjoying it.
Reflecting: I really am so blessed with a handful of close friends. Being really near or really far from them in this new chapter has made me appreciate them even more. I prayed for these girls before and during college and I am so indebted to God for sending them to me. All month, through texts or shared meals or video chats, I’ve been dwelling on how thankful I am for these relationships. They are each so different from the next, but I love each of them and I hope they love me too! They are also straight up boss ladies who are planning large university events, educating the masses on a variety of topics, making Pi Phi history and continuing their personal higher education.
Volunteering: Months ago the Lord put it on my heart to volunteer in high school ministry at Crossings, which was the church I really grew up in. I was in the same small group with the same leaders and girls from middle school to high school graduation. Turns out, one of my small group friends (and OSU Pi Phi sis!) wanted to do the same. Now we are leading 10th grade girls at Crossings each week. It is so fun and the student ministry is so different and really, really crazy. I mean that in the best, most loving way. It’s an amazing student ministry and I am happy I get to be there for a little bit of it. I’m learning a lot about myself and about being 15 all over again.
