Listening: This month I’ve been enjoying a playlist I made of songs that make me want to dance or that make me feel like I’m Celine Dion. Have a listen and let me know what songs you want to dance to! (GIF below is from Dazed and Confused)
Watching: I did a bad thing and re-subscribed to Netflix…Only because I found out Last Chance U is returning! In the mean time before the new season, I have revisited One Tree Hill and my *love* for Nathan Scott (don’t even bother telling me Lucas Scott is better). I’m still on season 1, which is fine because it’s before everything hits the fan and is still rather enjoyable. I also started watching Cheers! because I know it was wildly popular when it was on in the late 80s and 90s. So far, I love it!
Haley and Nathan over everyone
Celebrating: I turned 23 this month! We celebrated with dinner at Packard’s and it was DELICIOUS. My lovely family even surprised me with a few things on my birthday wish list. So many of you sent me sweet birthday wishes, so thank you! My brother turned the big 2-1 this month, so we celebrated with a very mature dinner and sipped on champagne and sangria. Finally (June is a big month of celebration in my family), my parents had their 25th wedding anniversary!!! They are awesome and I hope they have 25+ more years of wedded bliss.
Reading: This article on Desiring God really hit home with me. I’m constantly reminding myself that God closes doors in order to open others, probably for a sense of peace. However, I know there are things in my life that are doors that are just going to be closed and bolted shut forever…”Jesus is still Jesus. And he will be enough for you.”
Traveling: My family went to San Diego for Trey’s 21st birthday! It’s amazing how quick we can get to California from Oklahoma. It was my first time in California, and I was impressed with how gorgeous the weather was by the coast. More on San Diego will be coming on the blog soon!
Branding: I posted on my Facebook page this video of Lonzo Ball and Foot Locker for Father’s Day. I think this commercial is so so so funny. Lonzo might actually have a chance at creating his own brand, separate from his dad’s, and this commercial is a great way to do it. You have to feel bad for Lonzo, at least a little bit, so I hope that he finds a team separate from his dad that helps him become Lonzo the Laker (hehe), not Lonzo, LaVar’s son.
MVPing: Speaking of basketball…RUSSELL WESTBROOK IS THE 2017 NBA MOST VALUABLE PLAYER. My OKC heart is bursting with pride! It’s pretty impressive that the MVP has come from OKC twice in the past few years. I remember watching he-who-must-not-be-named accept his award from my dorm room, and now it’s Russ’s turn! He totally deserved it and I’m so happy for him. His speech totally reaffirms my faith that he is a great person. Mark my words: if he were to ever leave OKC, I couldn’t help but still love him because of his passion and determination. They guy is a player. Well, all of that is contingent on how he leaves. *cough* *cough*
