Seeing that Spring Break is next week, I thought I’d share my quick and healthy breakfast idea. It seems silly to dedicate a whole post to it, but I’ve learned how much trouble people have finding a good breakfast and decided I might as well throw mine out there!
About a year and a half ago I did the Arbonne 30 day healthy eating challenge. For the challenge, you substituted two meals with their protein shakes. Luckily, I really actually like the chocolate and vanilla powder and I ended up continuing to make shakes after I did the cleanse. They tasted good, we’re quick, filling and healthy! I can do this in about 3 minutes and drink it while I finish getting ready in the morning. I won’t start getting hungry until about 11 a.m., which is 3 hours after I have breakfast. It tastes like a berry smoothie with a bit of a chocolate taste (YUM) and I actually crave this in the morning. That’s how good it is.
Mixed berries, frozen or thawed (I do frozen)
Almond milk, unsweetened original
Arbonne chocolate and vanilla protein powder
Nutribullet or mixer of some sort
Fill your Nutribullet cup a little less than half full with water. Put in a little splash of almond milk to fill the cup a little more than half way. Put in a lot of frozen berries like you’re making a smoothie. Put a scoop of chocolate and vanilla protein powder. Screw on the top and blend until it’s a smoothie consistency or a little runnier.
I’ve found that this very process gives the frozen berries a tiny bit of time to thaw in the water/milk before blending. Also, by putting in the powder last, you don’t get clumps of protein powder. It all blends together nicely.
Ta-da! That’s what I have for breakfast Monday through Friday. You can easily use the protein powder you have at home or just use strawberries or add a scoop of peanut butter. These shakes allow you to be creative! For someone who has to eat breakfast, it helps me having a plan that I can run through in less than a few minutes and take on the go if needed.
Give a try and let me know what you think! Cheers!
