My life verse
Nine years ago today I was baptized in front of the congregation at Crossings Community Church. I was 12 years old. The Lord has always been Lord, but on that day He became my Lord.
I don’t have any big conversion story to tell you. I can’t hardly even put Him into words. My walk hasn’t been one of audible instruction, comfort or rebuke. There was no road to Damascus scene. Instead, the Lord slowly revealed Himself to me through friendships and trials. In fact, not long after my baptism I entered into one of my very first trials.
Today, as I ponder what He has done in my life and for my eternity, I don’t want to preach to you because it wouldn’t be authentic. He didn’t give me a big sermon-y post when I asked for one. Instead He brought me back to 2 Corinthians 8:9.
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.”
For nine years I have been cleansed with salvation and rich with joy. Thank you, Jesus!!!
