Instead of thinking or talking about job hunting today (lol), I thought I’d lighten the mood by sharing some of my favorite beauty products in the warmer months. I have always loved makeup and I especially love summer makeup because it’s so natural. Over the years I have found some beauty products that I love especially in the summer. I linked all the products and put them in a widget for you below!
OPI BIG APPLE RED NAIL POLISH
This perfect red polish will never go out of style and is appropriate for any occasion. I actually used up an entire bottle, so I recently repurchased it. 99% of the time this is the color I’m wearing on my fingers and toes all year round.
NOT YOUR MOTHER’S CLEAN FREAK REFRESHING DRY SHAMPOO
In the summer I find myself reaching for dry shampoo more and this is the best one I have found at a drugstore. It doesn’t leave a white cast in my hair, smells fresh and works well. I spray my hair at night and maybe in the morning if it still needs it, but it’s also great for a quick pick me up after a pool day.
There’s one color of NARS blush that I just love for the summertime, which is really the only time I wear it. The name isn’t something I want on my website, so I’ll just link it for you if you want to check it out after seeing the picture. It’s a coral color with some subtle gold shimmer and looks wonderful with a tan. Plus, it lasts me forever. This blush is so pigmented that you don’t need very much, so it helps justify the price in my mind.
NARS CORDURA EYESHADOW DUO
I am definitely not a smokey eye girl, but this eyeshadow duo is so versatile that I can do anything from a smokey eye to a very natural look. The golden tan looks, again, great with a summer tan and the brown comes off more like a black so you can use it as eyeliner or in your crease lightly. Here’s a video of one of my favorite beauty girls using it. I find that I reach for it most in the heart of winter as well as the heart of summer.
CHANEL SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL
In the summer I prefer to use a cream bronzer because it looks more natural, in my opinion. This Chanel bronzer was one of the first of its kind on the market, so I scooped it up to try a few years ago and I must say that it is a very good product. It smells like roses and the packaging is beautiful. Not a selling point, but definitely a lovely bonus.
MAC FACE AND BODY
This product is a staple in any professional makeup artist’s kit. It’s a water-based foundation that is very light, but can be built up with a few layers. It comes out really watery, so if you use your fingers to apply it after rubbing it between your fingers to make it more tacky, it will give you more coverage. This is great for a dewy, natural look at the pool or if you just want a light coverage in the heat.
VIKTOR & ROLF FLOWERBOMB PERFUME
My signature scent! It smells like summer and happiness and good memories, so you won’t catch me in anything else in the summer. I wear it all year round, even though it’s very floral and summery. The bottle is gorgeous, so you can’t miss it the next time you pop in Sephora. Definitely try it on and see how it oxidizes on your skin before buying the entire bottle.
